Folk in a Box – (Dom Coyote, Emily Barker,Pepe Belmonte, Adeel Akhtar and Frank Doody) were interviewed by Spoonfed about our all day slot at Camden Crawl Festival at the beginning of June. Dom Coyote answered a few questions.
Here’s a little excerpt
How do the audience and the performers generally react to Folk in a Box?
It’s different every time. Performers are often really nervous before their stint in the box. Here you are completely vulnerable, playing to one person, whose focus is entirely on you. If you make a mistake, there’s no way they’ll miss it. Audience members are often nervous too. They are no longer just a member of the crowd. It is a personal and intense interaction. When audience members and performers come out of the box, they are most often completely exhilarated. Performers want to go straight back in, and audience members feel they have been given a gift, just for them. It gives a song an incredible value.
